Its faculty members advance knowledge through excellence in scholarship and research as they work to remain abreast of the health care needs of the world’s diverse population. The School of Nursing was the first public institution in Connecticut to offer a program leading to a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and now also offers degrees at the master's, doctoral, certificate and continuing education levels. The programs are dynamic and respond to changing health care needs.
